This Caramel Sea Salt Pudding is a rich and velvety treat that brings together the smoothness of cream cheese with the sweet, buttery flavor of caramel, perfectly balanced by a subtle touch of sea salt. Chilled for several hours or overnight, it thickens into a luxurious pudding that’s sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Ingredients:
1 packet of Caramel Sea Salt spread mix
8 oz cream cheese (softened)
1 cup milk (whole milk or heavy cream for a richer texture)
1/2 cup sugar (optional, depending on the sweetness of the spread mix)
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional, for extra flavor)
Pinch of salt (optional, if you prefer a stronger salty contrast)
Instructions:
Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture:
In a medium mixing bowl, blend the softened cream cheese with the packet of Caramel Sea Salt spread mix. Use a hand mixer or a whisk to combine them until smooth and well-incorporated.
Add Milk:
Gradually add in the milk, a little at a time, whisking constantly to create a smooth, thick consistency. You can adjust the amount of milk depending on how thick or creamy you want the pudding.
Chill:
Pour the mixture into a bowl or individual serving cups and chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours, preferably overnight, until it thickens into a pudding-like texture.
Serve:
Serve chilled, and if desired, garnish with a sprinkle of sea salt or caramel drizzle for extra flair.
Serving Suggestions:
Classic Pudding Cups:
Serve the pudding in individual cups or small glass jars. You can top with a few flakes of sea salt or a drizzle of caramel sauce for extra flavor and visual appeal.
Parfait Style:
Layer the pudding with crushed graham crackers or crumbled cookies (such as shortbread or biscoff) in a tall glass for a delightful parfait. You can top it with whipped cream and a sprinkle of sea salt.
In a Pie Crust:
For a more decadent dessert, pour the pudding into a pre-baked graham cracker or Oreo crust to create a caramel sea salt pudding pie. Garnish with whipped cream and a sprinkle of caramel or a few chocolate chips.
Make It Your Own:
Add a luxurious chocolate touch! Shave some dark or milk chocolate over the top of the pudding before serving, or sprinkle mini chocolate chips on top for added texture and richness.
Add a crunchy, buttery element by mixing in crushed toffee bits or chopped toffee bars. This will complement the caramel flavor and add a sweet crunch.
For a bit of nuttiness, sprinkle chopped toasted pecans, almonds, or hazelnuts on top of the pudding. The nuts add a delightful crunch and pair beautifully with the caramel sea salt flavor.
